That Was Fun!

Wow!
Thank you so much to everyone who made the first Barnyard Bistro so much fun. There is no way the dinner could have happened without the help of many people and I would like to thank a few of them who so selflessly contributed their time and energy. Brittany, Lisa, and Samm all helped create and serve the meal. Tom, Marilyn, and Brenda all contributed time and materials. Rose made the dessert and gave us invaluable advice. Christie took great photos. And especially Sabra, who came up from New York to cook all night and the next day only to leave Sunday morning and go right to work.

We are starting to plan the next dinner so keep an eye out for an email soon. Here some photos courtesy of Christie and Marilyn.

Our First Dinner!

Barnyard Bistro will be hosting its first dinner on July 10th. We will be serving inner at our home, Misty Meadows Farm, on 1069 North Pleasant St in Amherst starting at around 6:30. Our chef, Vignesh Swaminathan has created an Indian-inspired, farm-fresh menu for a delicious, healthy meal. For this dinner, we will stray outside the Valley for a few key ingredients which we think are worth the trip such as salt, oil, and Indian spices. We will have a meat and a vegetarian option and we will also have locally-produced hard apple cider for sale by the glass.

Here is the menu:
-Summer squash Galettes with goat cheese and chutney
-Broccoli-stuffed Parathas
-Wheatberry Pilaf
-Saag Paneer (for vegetarians)
-Braised Curried Beef (for omnivores)
-Cucumber raita
-Mixed green salad
-Surprise Desert made by Rose Weiss

Visit barnyardbistro.eventbrite.com to RSVP and feel free to email us at barnyardbistro@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Hope to see everyone there!
